Description LINUX System Administrator Position Overview This is a 1st shift position with typical hours from 8AM 5PM Mountain Time The start and end times will be adjusted based on business requirements 24x7x365 oncall rotation availability is required The LINUX System Administrator is responsible for the operation, maintenance and 24x7x365 support of the high availability server/database/SAN platforms located in both local & remote Data Centers across multiple time zones.Supports daily operations including monitoring, alerting, troubleshooting, capacity management, provisioning, hardware and software configuration, patching, upgrades and performance monitoring/tuning Administers multiple systems including regular afterhour & weekend supports and 24x7x365 in a 99.999% uptime environment Composes clear and concise system documentation and reports Minimum Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Engineering or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Minimum fifteen years of working experiences. Minimum seven years of system administration experience in Red Hat LINUX Additional two years of technical experiences or one of the following certifications LINUX LPIC, Red Hat RHCSA, Red Hat RHSE Required Experiences Expert knowledge with LINUX (Redhat) administration, indepth knowledge of RedHat based distrosFamiliarity with a multitude of OSS tools and utilities for managing, monitoring and troubleshooting Linux infrastructure and networks LINUX/UNIX shell scripting Expert knowledge of system administration of HP C7000 blade servers Experience with supporting Oracle SQL database including Oracle RAC cluster implementation on SAN platformsStrong knowledge of SAN architectures and Fibre Channel protocolsExperience administering servers, backup operations, and systems monitoring in multiple and complex network server environmentsExperience with Datacenter Migrations, Server upgrades, O/S and firmware patching Expert troubleshooting and diagnostic skills and providing support to Operations personnel Experience supporting mission critical systems 24x7x365 including regular oncall for afterhour and weekend support Experience with meeting highavailability (99.999% uptime) SLAs. Experience with business continuity / disaster recovery failover/failback and runbook documentationAbility to prioritize multiple assigned tasks and execute parallel tasks in a highpressure environmentExperience with cyber security, server hardening and DMZ deploymentStrong writing and communication skills Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook Must be able to perform duties with minimum supervision, and participate in crossfunctional projects as scheduled
