Business Analyst, Lab Informatics (LIMS)

ResponsibilitiesBusiness Analysis and Reporting. Responsible for understanding lab informatics and qualitycontrol business requirements to work effectively with business owners todefine and translate business requirements into user or functionalspecifications and design mockups.. Act as the liaison between the business owner and theimplementation vendor or internal technical team for system implementation . Assist business owners in assessing the feasibility oftechnical or process solutions to meet business needs. Critically evaluate information gathered from multiplesources, reconcile conflicts, decompose highlevel information into details,abstract up from lowlevel information to a general understanding, anddistinguish user requests from the underlying true needs. Collaborate with developers and subject matter experts toestablish the technical vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability andperformance needs. Drive and challenge business units on their assumptions of howthey will successfully execute their technology plans . Review technical documents with IT project staff to ensurebusiness requirements are adequately reflected in technical planningdocumentsQuality Assurance and Testing. Understands technical design specifications. Defines testconditions, develops accurate and complete test plans andconducts/coordinates testing according to plan. . Defines, develops and implements quality assurance practicesand procedures, end user test plans and other QA assessments. . Ensures that all tests are conducted and documented accordingIT standards. Ensures that all items follow the change management processand are entered and tracked through the change management process. Work with appropriate personnel to ensure the softwaredevelopment process has an appropriate level of testing. Coordinates groups of business personnel who test, evaluateand validate new applications. Strong problemsolving skills demonstrated by understandinghow various issues affect each other and the outcome of projectsExperience Requirements. Minimum 7 years' experience as business analyst or combinationbusiness analyst and project management . Minimum 3 years recent business analyst experience engaged inimplementing lab and quality control systems in a life science, validatedenvironment; with solutions such as LIMS, chromatography data and labnotebook. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and theability to interact professionally with a diverse group includingexecutives, managers, and subject matter expertsCandidate could be located in any of the three base locations.
