Description
Database Administration (DBA) professionals are primarily responsible for designing, developing, implementing and maintaining database systems to support business needs. They are typically involved in database creation and maintenance, database testing, problem resolution, and the management of database integration activities. Database administration professionals provide DBA consulting and support to business and technology partners. Individuals are also involved in traditional activities such as performance monitoring/tuning, production database troubleshooting, backup and recovery, and supporting security administration for database access. Database Administration professionals are expected to act as liaisons to both internal and external clients. These individuals provide recommendations regarding upgrade paths based on business trends and user/workgroup processing requirements.
