Description
The webmaster must perform a variety of technical tasks to ensure that the Web site framework is adhered to, the Web site functions properly, and the Web site can be accessed quickly by as many people as possible. These tasks include Ensuring the servers and browsers can properly handle web pages, portlets, email, transmit news, and download files. Confirming access using a variety of browsers or operating systems such as Windows or Macintosh function equally well. Keeping up with changing technical standards in areas such as HTML (hypertext markup language), HTTP (hypertext transfer protocol), and XML (extensible markup language) that affect the workings of the Web site. Ensuring web sites are secure enough that the client can control who has access to confidential files yet open enough so that customers can easily access relevant information. The webmaster shall coordinate with other technical staff to ensure security protects the client's information from hackers
