Description
Participates in and coordinates database development as partof a project team.Essential Duties and Responsibilities Reviewsproject request describing database user needs. Determines if projectrequires creating series of new programs or modifying existingprograms that access data stored in databases. Attends specificationmeetings with project team workers to determine scope and limitationsof projects. Reviews workflow chart developed by Programmers andAnalysts to understand tasks db will perform; such as updatingrecords. Reviews procedures in database management system for makingchanges to databases; such as defining, creating, revising, andcontrolling databases. Revises company definition of data as definedin data dictionaries (information about data, including name,description, source of data item, and key words for categorizing andsearching for data item descriptions). Determines and enters changesto data dictionary descriptions; including type.
