Description
Telephony and Applications Services Planning (TASP) are seeking a Voice over IP design engineer to aid in the design and development of the Verizon Business Retail Voice over IP offering. The engineer will be required to perform three primary tasks 1) interact with Product Development & Marketing and other engineering / IT teams to gather requirements, 2) Develop High Level and Low Level Design documentation and 3) Interact with the lab and field support teams to ensure these designs are tested and rolled to production. The engineer will need to have knowledge of voice networks and specifically of Voice over IP and the Session Intiation Protocol (SIP). In particular, the engineer will need to know the SIP protocol well enough to document specific call flows and aid in troubleshooting lab and field issues. In addition to these responsibilities and skills, the engineer should also have knowledge of Broadsoft including the system architecture and provisioning hierarchy
