Description

Create a production and a development/test environment for the OptINnow web application with a specific Web Hosting Provider Media Temple, using their Dedicated Virtual (dv) service. Outputs and Outcomes include 1. Setup Ruby on Rails (RoR) in both prod and dev/test environments with all the required packages, plugins, etc.2. Provide a tuned MySQL database with all schema, data, and indexes setup3. Provide a tuned Rails production environment with Apache proxy servers loadbalanced against an appropriate number of Mongrel web servers (assume 5 needed).4. Provide a dev/test environment that is integrated and interfaced to external entity's dev/test environment, e.g., Google checkout, World Vision US Oracle Ebusiness Suite dev/test environments.5. Ensure both the prod and dev/test environments properly secured and less prone to vulnerabilities (i.e., change well known default accounts/passwords, etc)6. Setup DNS entries, SSL Certs, etc7. Setup user accounts in both environments8. Setup code repository for version control9. Setup Capistrano deployment environment and operations10. Setup web application performance monitoring operations11. Setup data backup and restore operations12. Setup snapshot backup and restore operations13. Setup other required production operations, e.g. facebook refresh, alerting mechanisms
