Project/Program Manager

Description

Support the technical information gathering, analysis and reporting for a large number of midrange and mainframe systems and their applications for the purpose of determining the required support level of effort, complexity of support, support requirements, system infrastructure and any other information relative and key to the support of the applications in scope for this project. Facilitate and lead key strategic planning sessions with the customer and IT representatives. Interact at very high levels with decisionmakers both internally and externally to IT. Manage expectations and provide master project planning to ensure all agreed upon deliverables are met according to project timeline commitments. Candidates must have the ability to lead complex, large scale IT projects; preferably in a midrange and mainframe environment. 10+ years of proven experience in project management, including PMP certification, with extensive systems infrastructure experience in the midrange space is essential. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, ability to persuade and influence is key to success. Candidates must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills with all levels of the organization. Proficiency in presentation skills is required. Recent Verizon IT Project Management experience is a necessity.
