Senior Software Engineer (J2EE)

Description

The Engineer is responsible for designing, developing and implementing software components, as required, to support the technical capabilities of all of AutoTrader.com's Application Offerings. To be successful in this role one must be able to work effectively in a fluid, fastpaced environment. This role requires good communication skills, both with fellow engineers and business contacts. In addition, the successful Engineer must be able to work with minimal supervision on multiple concurrent projects. Responsibilities (including but not limited to) Develop new or maintain existing reusable software components based on specificationsDevelop, implement and maintain unit tests of componentsParticipate in the design of new or changing components Participate in functional test planning and testing for components Participate in problem solving and troubleshooting for componentsShare knowledge by effectively documenting work and training/advising other engineers how to best leverage componentsTo promote software components usage and general reuse practices across all of AutoTrader.com's application teamsStay current with changes in the technical area of expertiseDevelop and maintain a thorough knowledge of AutoTrader.com's component inventoryWork with the team to ensure the quality and consistency of componentsRespond quickly and effectively to production issues and taking responsibility for seeing those issues through resolution.
