Description
5+ years experience with Linux system administration (Red Hat Enterprise Linux or similar OS). 3+ Experience managing public facing, front end web servers/web sites, including configuring, maintaining and troubleshooting. 3+ years experience with Apache server configuration and management. 3+ years experience with JBoss application server configuration and management. 3+ years experience shell scripting and/or other programming (Perl, Python) to accomplish various tasks. 3+ years MySQL Database configuration and management experience. 1+ year experience managing/administering Content Management Systems (CMS). Firm understanding and experience with TCP/IP networking concepts and principles. Firm understanding and experience working with both hardware (Netscreen preferable) and software (iptables) based firewalls. Strong security background and experience. Firm grasp of web technologies, including HTML, CSS, AJAX, Java, JavaScript, Perl, Ruby on Rails... Familiarity with various monitoring tools and experience dealing with a web site that has high SLA objectives. Proactive thinker, that proceeds with caution, and a plan to back out if problems arise. Ability to work well with various team members from developers, to business people, as well as be able to work solo on projects and get results. Highly organized, efficient, and thorough. Additional Desired Skills Hands on experience with F5 load balancers, including configuration, management, and troubleshooting. JBoss and/or MySQL database optimization and tuning experience. Netscreen Firewall appliance management and configuration. Red Hat Network for administering systems, applying patches... DNS configuration experience/management and firm understanding. Working knowledge and experience with version control systems, preferably Subversion (SVN) or CVS. Experience with rsync, scp, cron, at, sed, awk... desired.
