Description
The individual in this role will assume the leadership role for Windows based Desktop/Laptop technologies at Lands' End. This includes researching the industry and implementing best practices and trends for requesting, deploying, maintaining and supporting Desktop/Laptop hardware and operating systems at Lands' End. The individual will also work closely with the desktop application deployments team to manage and coordinate changes to the client computing environment. This position will be focused on Intel and Microsoft Windows technologies. . Key Technical Skills / Competencies Technical Skills Required Complete familiarity with current desktop technologies demonstrate intimate knowledge of desktop OS and hardware technologies and desktop utilities and toolsets proven examples of managing and supporting PCs in an enterprise environment including Server based tools for OS and application deployment and management. Imaging, deployment and 3rd level troubleshooting experience with Windows XP and Vista Operating Systems. (Windows 7 would be a bonus) Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager Microsoft System Center Operations Manager Altiris / Wise Package Studio or equivalent application packaging toolsets Application Virtualization tools and techniques Operating System Imaging tool and techniques Active Directory and Group Policy design Scripting / Automation Other Skills Required/Desired Analytical capability proven examples of extended (3rd level) troubleshooting of desktop related problems, also proven examples of analytical skills applied to project work (i.e. product analysis, problem trend analysis, requirement analysis, etc)Excellent communication skills, both oral and written demonstrate proven examples of communicating to a wide variety of technical and nontechnical peer groupsExposure and experience working with formal project management methodologies proven examples of creating scope, status and other project management documents
