Mainframe Z/OS Systems Programmer

Description

Install, configure, maintain, and resolve problems with the Z/OS operating system and integrated 3rdparty software (CA, IBI, NEON, SAS, etc). Provide support to Mainframe and Operations team as well as the Technical Services business groups (Network, Webmasters, UNIX, ESG, and MSE) when applicable.Team oriented approach. Strong desire to learn new concepts and ideas. Good customer support and communication. Good interpersonal communication. Demonstrates the following technical skills Resolve problems associated with the operating system and application software in a timely manner and document procedures. Provide assistance in the development of software procedures, performance metrics, and tuning. Works with vendors, system developers, and managers to architect new capabilities Must possess and demonstrate the following technical skills Strong Z/OS experience (z/OS V 1.7 through z/OS V 1.10) Stong z/VM experience (v5.4 and higher) Installing and maintaining Z/OS operating systems using SMPE methodology Z/OS performance analysis and tuning using Omegamon and other capacity planning software Experience with z/OS TSO environment Experience with SMP/E Z/LINUX experience is desirable (SUSE) Solid working knowledge of multiLPAR management in a Parallel Sysplex environment
