Cisco Network Engineer

Description

Provide network services support at an advanced level to users and provide group design and product recommendations, evaluations, configurations, etc. Responsible for resolving client business network problems through research, network installation and customization, network administration and network management support. Responsible for implementing and maintaining all aspects of the network infrastructure (i.e. Cabling Racking/LAN/WAN/WLAN/VoIP/VPN/Network Security). Provide oncall operational level support for all aspects of the nw. Conduct Proof of Concepts for emerging technologies and present recommendations to design team and management. Participate in multidiscipline design teams to provide solutions and capacity planning of equipment and network. Candidate should have a very strong background in Security (Cisco PIX, ASA, FWSM, Checkpoint/Nokia).Perform analytical, technical and administrative work in the planning, design, installation, documentation and administration of all telecommunication and network systems.Serve as lead technical troubleshooter on complex data and voice network problems including working with vendors of related equipment and services.Maintain network health monitoring and notification tools.Maintain telecommunication and data circuits/vendors (PRIs, T1, Private Lines, POTS, etc.).Maintain network infrastructure hardware including ongoing software/firmware patches or upgrades, and bandwidth analysis.Document network architecture and topology.
