Storage Engineer

Description

The Storage Engineer manages the implementation of Enterprise storage across multiple platforms. Engineers in this role serve as a liaison between Operations, Infrastructure and Application Development regarding the implementation and maintenance of Storage. Evolves existing problems management processes teffect support of storage for both development and production environments. Monitors log files, performance issues and the production environment for mission critical systems.Must be able tcommunicate effectively with technical and nontechnical audiences and needs thave a good understanding and experience of server and client side architectures. Should have an understanding of current industry trends and their advantages with ability tright fit intan existing environment. Must be a selfstarter with the ability twork independently and in a team environment. Understands requested changes tstorage, its configuration and implications tall user areas. Qualified candidates will possess the following qualifications/skill sets Primary Objective and Role Responsible for the providing comprehensive support for implementation and 3rd level support of all Storage based applications for all TD Ameritrade systems. Work with host groups tdesign storage and backup infrastructures that satisfy business requirements. Installation of SANs, SANbased arrays, multiported arrays, midsize tlarge storage arrays.Management of SANs, SANbased arrays, multiported arrays, midsize tlarge storage arrays (arrays with multiple host connections).Management includes configuration, usage reporting, and allocation thost.Monitoring of file systems and storage arrays will continue tbe performed by storage vendors and the Command Center.Reporting of and assistance in procurement of direct attached arrays and drives containing data. The SMG will report on storage growth for file systems and disks containing data. Monitoring of OS for space issues will continue tbe performed by the command center.
