Description

The SAP Technical Engineer will provide basis administration services related to the design, installation, administration, testing and ongoing maintenance of SAP and SAP thirdparty software packages and patches, which is currently being supported and implementing across South Carolina State governmentThe major components of SAP included are ECC 6.0 SAP_BASIS 701, SRM 5.5 SAP_BASIS 700, BI 7.0, SRM 7.0, XI 7.0, Portal 7.0.Specific Duties and ResponsibilitiesSAP Basis Administration in a Windows Server 2003 SQL 2005 environmentWorking knowledge of SAP in an HP infrastructure 64 bit hardware environmentSAP Basis administration and technical core competencies tasks including SAP software installation, upgrade, applying Support Packages, and installation of addon software componentsSAP profile parameter changes, workload analysis, system error analysis and establishment of standard Basis background jobs and system health checks and monitoringImpact analysis of new SAP releases to current system landscape environmentsDesign of solution and assistance to project and production support teams in deploying the solutionAnalysis of system performance, database performance, system health checks and implementation of tuning improvementsEstablishment of OSS and EarlyWatch connections where appropriateParticipation in multilandscape design solutions, architecture recommendations, and client strategies for continuous improvementMaintenance of multilandscape environments through client copies, system refreshes, and transport managementResponsibility for optimal disk layout, file system structures, OS tuning/performance improvements, and troubleshootingTechnical consulting and mentoring to application development, functional, global rollout, integration and change release management teams, and also to fellow Basis AdministratorsTechnical Leadership and participation in technical projects across multiple teamsInvestigation and engineering of new technologies and solution from SAP and associated software vendorsPractical experience interfacing to 3rd party technologies such as Vertex, BSI, Adobe Forms, Doc Builder, Nakisa, Business Objects and other common SAP boltons
