Sybase Database Analysis and Design Consultant

FedEx is looking for a seasoned Sybase Database Analysis and Design Consultant to join their project team. Consultant will be responsible for leading database analysis and design activities based on defined business requirements. They will interact with business partners and/or IT staff to gather and document information related to database requirements. They will develop and/or maintain a data model that reflects current processes and business rules. They will also track database performance to ensure it consistently meets access requirements. Additionally, they will be required to troubleshoot SQL queries, assist developers in writing SQL and review all SQL before production install. They will also update IT management on a regular bases and be involved in multiple projects simultaneously. They will work with software vendors and contractors to coordinate delivery efforts, draft and review documentation in compliance with the client's Global Development Process. T!hey will need to provide leadership within specific business areas and work under limited supervision.Education requirements Bachelors Degree, preferably in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business and/or equivalent formal training or work experience.Minimum years experience in the following areas 5+ years work experience in Sybase database analysis and design. 2+ years work experience in Oracle database analysis and design. Performance and tuning experience is preferred. Knowledge of Transportation, LTL, and/or Postal industry is desired. Great oral and written communication skills with excellent client facing skills.
