Description
The Engineering Project Manager is a very handson technical management position with high visibility and large levels of responsibility. The PM is responsible for performing endtoend crossdiscipline leadership throughout the software development lifecycle. Accountable for ontime, onbudget, high quality software project deliveries, the PM manages the entire project, including Analysis, Development and Quality Assurance. The PM also oversees dependencies and handoffs between Engineering, Product Management and Operations. The projects that the PM manages are large scale with significant tactical or strategic impacts for VeriSign. Specific Responsibilities Manages the entire software development lifecycle project, including Analysis, Design / Architecture, Development and Quality Assurance Leverage project team resources to provide level of effort estimates Identify, mitigate, and prioritize, manage and resolve project issues, constraints, dependencies and risks Create and manage overall project plan Define and manage to critical success factors Develop and monitor project budget versus actual expenses Manage project changes to schedule, budget, and scope through change control process Communicate status and issues to senior management and project stakeholders Coordinate crossorg team, proactively ensuring that teams are in sync in terms of communication, schedules, issues, etc. Facilitate decision making with stakeholders, balancing the needs of different constituencies and facilitating consensus. Identifies, mitigates, and prioritizes, manages and drives resolution of project issues, constraints, dependencies and risks. Proactively identifies risk areas and critical items that need to be done to keep project on track. Champion and key contributor of continuous improvement of PM best practices, using innovative ideas to increase effectiveness of organization. Managing mostly high projects in terms of complexity, risk, and/or business criticality while managing multiple projects at a given time, juggling activities and priorities accordingly. Ability to facilitate resolution of technical issues. Capable of interpreting technical information and present/speak the information to different audiences (business owner, etc.), conveying the message in a way the audience can understand. Understanding of process, potential issues, consequences of changes during Software Development Lifecycle Ability to gauge severity of a technical issues.
