Description

The Netcentric Integration Group focuses on integrating communication and networking capabilities to provide a prototyping and test environment for future airborne networking implementations. The future networkcentric operations environment will include multiple terrestrial networks, airborne assets with multifaceted communication and networking capabilities, and a space backbone. The emphasis in the Netcentric Integration Group is the development of an airborne communication node, which serves as a hub providing heterogeneous RF and optical data links, onboard gateway and routing, and network capacity brokering. To support experimentation and test, the group manages and operates a 707 test aircraft; a groundbased, portable communications and operations center, and a freespace microwave propagation measurement range. These test assets are used as proofs of concept for advanced communication and networking architectures, both in controlled experiments and operational exercises. Current activities include integrating protected military satellite communications (MILSatcom), highrate pointtopoint tactical data links, and optical laser communication capabilities into the 707 test aircraft, as additions to the numerous existing modes of communication. Proofofconcept objectives include utilizing the rich set of communication links with timevarying capacities in a brokered, IPbased, airborne network and demonstrating robust communications through dynamic link management and brokering techniques. Java development experience required Serverside experience is more important than clientside XML, SOA preferable application servers (one of Tomcat, JBoss, WebSphere, Weblogic,...) preferable enterprise service busses (of ServiceMix, Cape Clear, BEA Aqualogic, Sonic, IBM WebSphere, ...) optional some design experience, able to read and generate UML diagrams, preferable Education Bachelor degree or equivalent is required. Professional experience 0 (with impressive course work) 8 years of experience.
