Bioinformatics Statistician

Description Advanced degree (MS required, PhD preferred) in statistics, mathematics, physics, computer science, biology, or an equivalent technical field, with demonstrated expertise in statistics. At least one year experience in Bioinformatics working with large scale data in a team setting. Solid problemsolving skills, including those that require mathematical and statistical solutions. Ability to multitask and work on concurrent projects. Ability to communicate statistical concepts and data analysis interpretations to nonstatisticians, discuss issues and provide solutions to scientists with different backgrounds. Experience with one or more of the following is desirable Statistical software tools (e.g. SAS, R, Matlab) Programming languages (e.g. Perl, SQL) Handson experience in design and execution of biological experiments Analysis of microarray gene expression data Pathway analysis Responsibilities Sirna Therapeutics has an opening for a bioinformatics analyst. The analyst will utilize statistical, mathematical and basic programming skills to help develop and validate models for siRNA activities and to support research projects. The analyst will provide expertise in statistics and take initiative, working closely with bioinformatics colleagues and biology project team members, to further new discoveries in RNA Therapeutics.
