Description
State Farm in Bloomington, IL is seeking a UDB DB2 DBA to provide database project and service support for Clients Federated Data Warehouse (FDW). This includes new database development, maintenance, consulting, performance tuning, and documentation to meet business needs. Additionally, the team provides technical support and expertise for the administration of DB2 databases for FDW on both the Unix and z/OS platforms. This includes the DBA tools and scripts required to support the development and maintenance of the databases. Job Responsibilities Provides physical design work and systems database tuning. Consults on database designs. Assists in facilitating database and Consults on database designs. Assists in facilitating database and application design reviews. Establishes database system business resumption rules, (backup and recovery). Minimizes and manages data redundancy. Consults and promotes reuse of data. Using the logical model, build physical database and associated metadata. Coordinate and manage the organization in the physical database for current and future database environments. Development and maintenance of the database. Work with project efforts to assist and consult on database design and implementation. Required Skills 3 to 7 years of DB2 Database Administration experience on UNIX in a datawarehouse environment. Strong understanding and experience with technical environments for DB2 on UNIX. DB2 application programming, use of DB2 utilities and tools New database development and database maintenance SQL coding Performance tuning Business Intelligence and Data Warehouse/Data Mart PERL scripting
