Description
Technical Writer is responsible for technical writing, formatting, editing, reviewing, publication support for all required documents Meeting documents, Requirements documents, system documents, project documents, project closeout documents etc.Must be able to work closely with technology and business teams and translate technical and functional requirements to well written documentation.Create, edit and maintain technical documentation for applications and processes.Researches technical and engineering information, including drawings, design and test specifications, product prototypes, and interviews with subject matter experts.Participate and lead group discussions to better understand the client's requirements.Experienced in creating different types of user documentation reference manuals, howto guides, cheat sheets etc.Revising boilerplate text to meet project requirements Writing and/or editing additional documentation required to support the procurement or proposal process (e.g., bidders' conference materials, responses to questions.)Fostering a strong working relationship and communication level with assigned project teams, including IT staff, client's management team, GTA representatives, program staff and other various stakeholders in local and state government.Organize material and complete writing assignment according to set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology.Review published materials and recommend revisions or changes in scope, format, content, and methods of reproduction and binding.Edit, standardize, or make changes to material prepared by other writers or establishment personnel. Qualifications Completion of Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Public Administration, Management Information Systems or a related field from an accredited college or university and five years of IT experience that includes the following 5 years of technical writing experience with process flowsKnowledge of Project Management Methodologies and demonstrated ability to capture requirements accurately and objectively.Strong Presentation development and writing skills. Adept in MSOffice Suite MS Word, MS Project, MS PowerPoint. Experienced in creating flowcharts and project plans. Knowledge and experience with Visio, and Adobe Acrobat Professional.Strong analytical skills. Must be able to use MS Excel, Access to analyze data.Knowledge and experience with Process modeling tools.Must be able to write clearly, concisely and within rigid schedules.Strong written and verbal communications.Preferred to have knowledge in Macromedia Dreamweaver. Familiarity with internet technologies and experienced with other HTML tools.1+ years of hands on experience facilitating user requirements sessionsAbility to work well in a team and as an independent selfstarterPrior work experience in writing RFPs for Health and Human Services Organizations and other public sector organizations is a plus.
