Websphere Systems Administrator

Description

This person will be supporting Websphere application serverthis includes but not limited to installation, configuration & patching server. Supporting and responding to issues to restore system. This is not a developer position, please do not submit developers. Person should have Managed and supported Websphere servers running applications in a operations mode, We are seeking a Senior Production Application Support to Provide Level 2 (Operational SME) support for enterprise applications and their components to ensure application availability to the business. Proactively monitor appications, changes and incidents to maintain service levels. Administer and enforce IT standards/processes.Essential Job Functions Provide primary support and troubleshooting to resolve issues impacting application operationsRespond to monitoring alerts to quickly identify trouble source and implement resolution to avoid or reduce duration of an outageDeploy releases, enhancements, and upgrades or new apps into production to stabilize the environment As needed for new infrastructure, install and configure middleware and vendor application software to build new environmentsProvide technical solutions to automate processes or functions to improve business operationsDevelop corresponding operations and support procedures for application operationsContinually monitor and tune application infrastructure to assure optimal performance, availability and utilization of resourcesDevelop and continually refine restore or recovery procedures for errors impacting application operationsDesigns and develops scripts to automate manual tasks related to operations and maintenance Reports to managers and supervisors, advising performance as related to application operationsEscalate issues per policy to higher tier support resources and management as necessaryAdminister and enforce IT standards and processes Oncall 24x7 responsibilities and shift work possibleQualifications BA/BS degree or equivalent experience and training in Information Technology (IT)45 years experience in ITrelated operations and support roleStrong knowledge of Websphere Application Server, IIS or other application middlewareTivoli Monitoring toolWorking knowledge for system administration in UNIX and/or Windows operating systemsWorking knowledge of SQL scriptingTriZetto NetworX Standalone or Facets experience desirableHealthcare/Payer operations experience desirable Other Strong analytical skills, organized and detailoriented; selfdirected
