Description This position is for a software development role within the embedded software organization at York.Setting the standard for performance by example, both in terms of code quality and dedication to producing worldclass softwareRefining and improving the software development processCoordinating and participating in software design reviews and code reviewsIndependently coding, testing, debugging and modifying complex embedded systems software to ensure conformance to design specifications and the York Software Development ProcessPreparing and maintaining project schedules and budgetsDocumenting and archiving software program releases in accordance with York's Software Development ProcessFunctioning as a technical member on multiple project teams to ensure that project objectives are met in accordance with the York Product Development Process and York Software Development ProcessDeveloping software requirements specifications and software functional specificationsKeeping abreast of technical advancements in programming languages, techniques and tools. Required Skills Strong verbal and written communications skills.Ability to work in a fastpaced, schedule driven, team oriented environment.Familiarity with debug tools and in circuit emulators.Experience with Embedded TI/DSP communications.Overall this candidate needs to have coding, testing, implementation, design knowledge and architecture knowledge with TMS320F24x/28x background. Education and Experience Bachelors in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering with a strong background in software development and/or software engineering.At least seven (7) years of embedded systems software development experience is required, preferably using both procedural and object oriented languages.Experience with industrial control systems and 8/16/32 bit microcontroller architectures is also desired.Knowledge of BACnet, Modbus and Ethernet is a plus.Must be proficient as an embedded developer using real time operating systems.
