The SAN Storage Area Network Engineer position focuses on two main areas data backup/recovery and storage resource managementAdminister and support SAN fabrics, EMC and/or Net Apps and disk arraysExpand your skills in backup infrastructure, Veretas Backup and control storageBecome an expert in the definition, tracking and maintenance of data resources in a production environmentNetbackup is the focus for this position! Provides technical support and basic administration, in the planning, coordination, and implementation of upgrades, or changes to SAN technologiesDevelops, tests and implements technical procedures to maintain or expand service levelsWork in conjunction with Server Administrators to translate business application requirements into infrastructure requirements Evaluate products, services, applications/tools, software, and industry developments for potential business impact Participate in medium to large business projects; lead small to medium infrastructure projects Performs system maintenance as assigned coordinating with the business for the appropriate maintenance windowProvides level of support for problem resolutionParticipates in 24 x 7 oncall rotationInitiates interaction with established vendors Qualifications / Required Skills Completion of Bachelor''s degree in MIS, CS, Technical Certification and / or 4 6 years of increasingly responsible professional experience2+ years minimum of Veritas Netbackup experience is requiredSystems Administration degree and/or Systems Administration experience Requires basic knowledge of networking components and services such as TCP/IP protocols, DHCP and DNS technologies, and LAN/WAN topologies and transports Requires indepth knowledge of storage and backup technologies employed; hardware, and related tools and applications Excellent Communication Skills Strong customer service orientation EMC experience is helpful to have, but this is not a requirement
