JAVA Developer

Description

Commodore is looking for senior Java developers to drive the design and evolution of Commodore's infrastructure and application components. The successful applicants will participate in technical design sessions and code reviews, create and evolve code using TestDriven Development, and interact with other technology teams within our Risk, Legal, and Operations areas to deliver consistent, accurate calculations to our users. The role will be handson and will allow you to gain an understanding of collateral management and the broad array of products traded at the firm, including our OTC derivatives, securities, loans, and funding businesses. The successful candidate will participate in all phases of a project lifecycle and work with extremely bright, motivated individuals. The technologies used within the team are Java, JSP, UDB, JMS, Tomcat, Hibernate and Struts plus the implementation of caching and workflow (jBPM) technologies. We are adding C# to the technologies used as we migrate the UI away from a web based UI to .NET.Principle Responsibilities Contribute to the technical design of specific projects Handson implementation Evolve our strategic architecture to support scalability and high availability Experience /Skills High degree of competency in Object Oriented Design and Analysis Expert level knowledge of Java Demonstrated history of technical project successfully deployed to production Experience in testdriven development 46 years of relevant experience Familiarity with UML, Tomcat and Eclipse Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
