Web Services Architect

HP is changing this Groups Technology in a way that will make it marketable to more fortune 1000 companies. They want to create a web site and start offering the Groups Video Conferencing technologies on different levels. They also want to make it compatible with different types of caledering systems like Outlook. Their current web environment is an ASP.NET environment, but that limits them in some areas, so that may change depending on the recommendations of this Web Architect (so Java is quite likely to end up being the primary Architecture, based specifically on what this Architect Candidate recommends while in this job). This is a very high profile position for TEKsystems, and for HP. Some Must haves are a. Experience with a multitude of technologies J2EE, .NET, etc. The need a solution that is scalable. b. Knowledge of flexibility on UI One Voice requires changes to basic components c. Web Services pieces i. Reporting/status/scheduling meetings end user ii. Operations tools HP services, 3rd party services, iii. System integrator/fulfillment installing systems (endpoints, need to know status of network d. Includes machine to machine communication a service that other services may depend on as well clients The person who fills this position must have experience working on High Availability, 24/7 Websites. They must have great knowledge and exposure to many different types of technologies, in order to make nonbiased decisions, and offer the most scalable solutions. They should also have good experience working in/on research and development projects, and be familiar with the appropriate methodologies and procedures. We have manager contact, and interviews will consist of a phone screen and inperson with the PM team (in Portland). Addl Job Info The Group organization within HP is looking for a software development architect with experience in web services development and interfacing with backend databases. The position will initially focus on developing the architecture to provide a web services interface to video teleconferencing (VTC) endpoints, VTC management systems, internal Open View service desk databases and internal SQL server databases for remote management of video conferencing and Telepresence systems.
