The Information Technology Group (ITG) is responsible for Managing Macquarie''s technology infrastructure Supporting, maintaining, and enhancing existing business systems Delivering and deploying new systems, technologies, and services The Group provides each major business in Macquarie with a dedicated team that works closely with that business to understand its particular technology needsIn the role of Voice Network Support Engineer you will work with the global team in supporting Macquarie's voice networkYou will provide network support and engineering skills to the region and work to meet business needs while maintaining established network standardsThis is a 12 month contract.Responsibilities will include Handling of level 2 network support functions for both voice and data networks Handling of voice requests from users including Moves, Adds and Changes Managing network incidents Managing trouble tickets with carriers and other vendors Managing problem management issues through to closure Initiating, implementing and managing network changes for support work Providing network consultancy to other IT teams Supporting and implementing within the environment in accordance with established standards Building and updating network documentation Assisting in maintaining existing network monitoring and management platforms Coordinating and performing maintenance work Assisting in the development and execution of the team's BCP/DR design and plan Appropriately uses the network monitoring and management platforms Applicants must have initiative and be comfortable working in a changing environmentIn addition candidates must be able to perform under time pressure, be part of an on call roster and regularly work out of normal business hours, often with little notice.This role is ideal for selfstarters who thrive off autonomy and are good at seizing opportunitiesIdeally you will be qualified to degree level, hold a Cisco CCVP certification as a minimum and have proven experience in a network support or engineering roleMUST HAVE ALL OF THE FOLLOWING Handson experience configuring and supporting Cisco IPTEL telephony platformsHandson experience configuring and supporting Cisco switches, routers and firewallsExperience supporting BT or IPC trader phone systems Experience supporting voice recording platforms (Nicelog & Witness) Experience supporting Avaya ACD / call centers Working knowledge of common network technologies and protocols LAN, WAN, Dial, VPN, TCP/IP, OSPF, EIGRP, RIP, BGP, IPSEC, SNMP Experience supporting legacy TDM PBX phone systems Planning and scheduling skills Excellent communication skills General IT skills to assist in working with other technical teams
