Network Architect

Description

The Network Architects role is to analyze, design and plan our clients network architecture according to best practices, while ensuring high levels of data quality and availability, including analysis and integration of new customers and projects into the Network Architecture. This individual is responsible for the design, specifications, sizing, development, and oversight of policies, standards and procedures to ensure a consistent Network architecture and management throughout the organization. Requirements College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science or engineering and/or equivalent work experience. Network vendor Certifications Preferred. (CCIE, CCNA)Eight plus years of previous architecture experience, across multiple vendor and technologies (Cisco, Juniper, F5, Checkpoint, McAfee)Indepth understanding of Network architecture design techniques, theories, principles, and practices.Solid experience architecting Network systems within a broad spectrum of technologies.Excellent knowledge of Cisco, F5 and Juniper network systems. (routers, switches, Load balancers)Excellent knowledge of LAN/WAN concepts and systems.Excellent knowledge routing protocols BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, GLBP, Traffic engineering, L2/L3 VPN, multicast & class of service.Excellent knowledge of WAN acceleration concepts and devices.Knowledge and experience with ITIL processes.Knowledge and experience with Architecture development methodology and processes. (TOGAF, Zachman etc.)Business Requirements Collection and Analysis.Establish and maintain key relationships with strategic suppliersGood understanding of the organizations goals and objectives.Proven analytical, strategic vision drawing on strong problemsolving abilities.Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a highpressure environment.Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.Ability to present ideas in businessfriendly and userfriendly language appropriate to both executive and managerial audiences.Ability to conduct research into server, storage, virtualization issues, standards, and products.Ability to effectively manage relationships with other architecture teams, application teams, stakeholders, business and customer representatives.Highly self motivated and directed.Organizational skills with attention to task details, documentation and target dates. Team orientated, willing to share knowledge and collaborate with peers.
