The Security Architect will be responsible for serving as a technical and design source for planning firewall changes, provisioning, and project activity. This individual will work with key site staff and vendor personnel in this regard. The individual will be responsible for the completion of an approved technical design. This position will span all technology disciplines which will include but not be limited to Firewalls, IDS and Network Equipment. Responsibilities will include the following Create firewall designs as per AAA NCNU standards and requirements. Identify technical impacts and risks for a given firewall design. Represent firewall designs in the AAA NCNU meetings and approval process. Develop technical documentation including diagrams and configurations. Support project teams to address technical questions with a design. Participate in network assessments as part of network planning. Provide firewall analysis and design skills/expertise. Assist with transitioning firewall management to a single managed service Work with Project Coordinators, Field Engineers, and Operations as needed Requested Role Security Architect Skills Required Demonstrated experience performing the responsibilities described in the deliverables above. Demonstrated experience with in the technologies within the scope of the responsibilities. Ability to interact in a professional manner with AAA NCNU staff. Ability to work both independently and in a team environment and to interact effectively with other team members, management and AAA NCNU. Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communications skills. Experience Required B.A. or B.S. degree is preferred. Must possess 7 or more years of experience in IT security. CISSP, CISM, or similar information security professional certification is preferred. Must possess relevant security experience with security policy development, security architecture models, and information security regulatory compliance. Experience in the lifecycle of cyber security and computer network security technical and programmatic operations. This includes experience in Penetration testing and other cyber security automated testing and monitoring tools (Not vulnerability scanning) Virus/malicious software identification and management Computer network monitoring Security tool development Development of strategies for managing a cyber/computer security event Threat Modeling Developing Policy, Procedure and Standards Cyber security best practices Must have demonstrated knowledge of cyber security technologies including network security devices, encryption, identity management, access controls, security event management, etc, and the interest and experience to work on security architecture.
