Mobile Software Engineer (J2ME/iPhone or Android)

Mobile Software Engineer (Contract) TeleNav is a global leader in locationbased services (LBS), delivering GPS navigation, mobile resource management (MRM), social networking and local search via a mobile device. Deployed by 15 carriers in 29 countries, TeleNavs solutions are available on more than 500 wireless devices and run on most major mobile platforms currently available. TeleNav has over 700 employees worldwide. Currently, were looking for a mobile developer to work onsite at our offices in Sunnyvale as a contractor. Anticipated project length will be 6 months. Responsibilities Assess and profile mobile devices to determine scope and complexity of application porting effort Port mobile java application code to multiple mobile devices, mainly on J2ME for major carriers. Add new features and GUI elements as required for mobile applications Work closely with release team to prepare internal builds for release to QA Plenty of coding and code review, in Java to realize robust, high performance, and codesize/memory/storage efficient infrastructure and applications Requirements BS or Master Degree in Computer Science or related field 2+ years of experience in the developing commercial software in Java Strong background in device troubleshooting, implementation, and handson programming Excellent communication and relationship skills Energetic, self motivated, team player Strong problem solving Minute attention to detail Experience w/ J2ME, iPhone or Android Must work onsite Pluses Familiar with Ant, Anthill Experience with other Java platforms like Android and RIM.
