Description
Job Description We are looking for highly motivated and driven Senior Software Developer with a background in Java/objectoriented design and handson development. The Senior Software Developer will be a member of a team that is responsible for development of a large, multitier web application based on J2EE framework, Oracle Database, and Ruby on Rails. The candidate will be responsible for design, implementation and support of components related to the Commerce platform of WSJ.com, subscription, entitlements and related services. The candidate will operate in a large, crossfunctional team environment, interacting with various crossfunctional IT groups.Required Qualifications 9+ years experience in Java/J2EE, MVC, JSP, XML, SQL, HTML, JavaScript, Eclipse Ruby on Rails experience is an absolute MUST have skill Excellent understanding of Object Oriented Programming methodology Ability to Producing readable, reliable, and maintainable code 5+ years developing software solutions to solve complex, businesscritical challenges Experience with CVS, SVN, or SourceSafe Working knowledge of JBOSS Application Server, APACHE Webserver Working knowledge of one or more major databases (Oracle, SQL Server) and at least one Object to Relational mapping method (e.g., Hibernate). Must have experience with Unix utilities Experience with Subversion Experience using automated build / deployment tools such as Maven 2 and Ant Experience generating automated unit testing using tools like JUnit and/or HttpUnit Experience building SOA solutions , Web Services, SOAP, REST Services Experience in both traditional software development lifecycle and agile development / iterative programming Preferred Qualifications Experience with HTML, CSS and JavaScript libraries preferred but not required Comprehensive written and verbal communication, interpersonal, facilitation, presentation, quantitative, analytical, organizational, and followup skills. Ability to converse effectively with all levels of team structure. Successful candidates will be curious thinkers who can work independently or with a team Superior troubleshooting skills Bachelors degree in Computer Science (CS), Computer Information Systems (CIS), Management Information Systems (MIS) and/or equivalent technical degree
