Description
North Carolina Department of Transportation is seeking a short term (approx.12 month) contractor for a professional project manager position. The selected candidate will be responsible for coordinating and providing direction for the activities of information technology professionals who develop and enhance complex computer applications; including senior analyst responsibilities. This position will ensure that the software application project progresses in an efficient and timely manner. Specific responsibilities of this position include . Developing project goals and objective. Full life cycle project planning. Reviewing the work schedules of assigned staff on a periodic basis to assure that schedules and deadlines are being met and that projects have sufficient staff support to complete them on a timely basis.. Ensuring that work is carried out in accordance with agency project management guidelines and parameters. Conducting technical reviews of finished projects. Managing customer expectations. Leading requirements gathering meetings with business owners, IT groups, and external stakeholders.. Identifying and documenting project requirements. Coordinating the efforts of technical and nontechnical teams. Designing application interfaces between systems
