Marimba Engineer (BMC Configuration Management)

Description Under direct supervision, assists in the analysis, design, programming, and modification of computer programs for software products and/or customer applications.Writes code and completes programming, testing, and debugging of applications.Finalizes forms, procedures, and documentation needed for installation and maintenance of application programs.May interface with marketing and users to add new or custom features to company products.Typically requires a technical degree in Computer Science or related discipline.4 6 years of experience.Senior Software Engineer Marimba (BMC Configuration Management) Engineer will be responsible for hands on development, infrastructure and integration efforts with Clients current BMC CM infrastructure and configuration.The Senior BMC CM Engineer will work with the Security team as well as various Client International Regions to address BMC CM Infrastructure, Software Packaging, and Patching to ensure that Client Information Security Guidelines are met and can be shown with compliance reporting for workstations.The Senior BMC CM Engineer must possess a high level knowledge with the BMC CM tool including Infrastructure Architecture, Software Packaging, Patch Management, and Troubleshooting.And must also posses a good understanding of XML concepts, a good understanding of Website security including SSL, a basic understanding Java programming, and a basic understanding of Microsoft Active Directory; as well as foundational security infrastructure concepts across operating systems and networks.The Senior BMC CM Engineer will be expected to continuously improve the BMC CM environment by working with Client Regions to meet their changing needs.Maintaining current BMC CM Infrastructure.Interaction with International regional teams to help implement Patch Management, Reporting, and Software Distribution to Client Workstations.Gather requirements and Guide / recommend the right process for Upgrading the CM Infrastructure as new updates become available. Training Regional Specialist on the best methods, and processes to use the BMC CM tool.Guide users on the potential currently unused or under used services available within Marimba.Create and maintain documentation for BMC CM Infrastructure, Configuration, Troubleshooting, and Use.Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues quickly identifying the best option.
