SQL Server Developer

SQL Developer should be solidly midlevel, 6+ yrs of experience. Candidate should be able to handle midlevel SQL development with a minimum of handholding. Communication needs to be 9/10 or better, both verbal and written. We are looking for SQL DEVELOPERS, not DBA's. If a person has done some development work while being a DBA they won't be a fit for this role. Experience within full SDLC is required. Our two finalists really fell flat on this facet. Having been involved in only bits and pieces of the development cycle, they would have needed a lot of instruction of where the SQL Developer's role is throughout the SDLC. ER diagramming tools for SQL Microsoft VISIO and Erwin. (previous candidates also feel short in this) SQL 2005, SSIS and TSQL are all extremely important. A successful candidate will also have some solid understanding of .NET programming and architecture to make their SQL Development more effective. Should have handson experience designing SQL databases for transactions and writing TSQL scripts. SSRS not required. Cognos not required, but a definite plus. NO ETL developers, please. Again, we need someone who can work in a fastpaced environment. If a developer wants their work to be viewed and used by 47,000+ people, then this is the place for them!
