Description Provide Portal Development in a Vignette Portal Server for a Fortune 18 company. This person will work in a collaborative team environment along with other technical team members developing and supporting applications. This person will work extensively with other internal business units, and will mentor existing associates. Hence, it is required to have strong interpersonal, communication, customer focus and leadership skills. Responsible for designing, developing, modifying, and evaluating programs for internal functional areas including finance, human resources, and marketing. Analyzes existing programs or formulates logic for new systems, devises logic procedures, prepares flowcharting, performs coding, and tests/debugs programs. Develops conversion and system implementation plans. Prepares and obtains approval of system and programming documentation. Recommends changes in development, maintenance, and system standards. Trains users in conversion and implementation of system.Required Skills Qualified candidates will also possess the following skills Work with customers to design new or modify existing portal content and/or Intranet applications to meet requirements. Responsible for product installs, upgrades, patches, configurations using strict change control procedures. Develop test scripts, configuration management techniques and documentation. Ability to design, implement, debug and execute solutions that meets specifications. Ability to understand and effectively utilize the technical development environment. Minimum 2 years of experience in structured analysis and systems design. Effective analytical and problem solving skills. Ability to prioritize/communicate conflicting demands. Strong external/internal design, analysis and debugging skills. Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills. A candidate for this role should have experience with at least 2 full software development lifecycles. 2 + projects through the full system development lifecycle from Development to a Production environment. 2 + years of development experience using a Portal Server technology like Vignette Portal Server, Weblogic Portal Server, Websphere Portal Server, JBoss Portal Server. Knowledge of Vignette Content Management V7 and integrating it with the Vignette Portal. 4+ years of J2EE experience in technologies like Java, Servlets, JSP, JDBC, JNDI, Web Services. 2+ years of experience with J2EE application servers like Weblogic Server, Websphere Application Servers, Tomcat.
