Description
Provide strategic and tactical project planning services for the AARP Information Technology team. The PM needs to abide by the policies and standards established by the Portfolio and Project Management offices (PPO, PMO). The individual will manage the information architecture efforts within the Enterprise Information Management (EIM) team, works closely with the portfolio/project manager in EIM, and client engagement managers within other groups. This individual must be able to work in a matrix environment, be experienced in agile, waterfall, and iterative project life cycle management, and be able to plan and communicate effectively. . Provides project management oversight services for resource and project planning, financial tracking, coordination, cost and resource modeling and allocation. . Identifies project requirements and needed resources, setting project standards and processes, establishing project status reporting, identifying and managing risks, conducting quality assurance reviews, and leading postimplementation reviews. . Oversees project requirement assessments and helps establish project scope and definition. . Oversees project plans, establishing project roles and responsibilities, sequencing and scheduling project deliverables and required resources. . Provides guidance, assistance, and counsel to the EIM Portfolio Manager regarding project goals, objectives, and expected outcomes. . Helps support the EIM Project Portfolio Management reporting and makes recommendations regarding specific project initiatives within the context of the overall project portfolio process. Links project initiatives to the organization's strategic goals. . Lead, guide and direct project team, developers and contractual staff resources in multiple projects through all lifecycle phases according to established guidelines and best practices. . Identifies and defines change management issues critical to project success. Defines resources and support necessary to prepare involved business units for changes to process and procedures, job functions, skill set requirements, staff morale, and communications framework. . Forms a responsible partnership with senior management, internal and external collaborators, consultants, and vendors to ensure project stays on schedule, recommending resources and priorities adjustments as necessary. . Develops project closeout criteria and conducts evaluations of project outcomes. Makes recommendations for followon projects as required. . Manages project team productivity and quality delivery of services. Assists in setting quality standards. . Manages project deliverables on time and within budget. Responsible for delivering targeted results, including financial results. . Participate in project meetings involving representative of business units in an effort of acquiring asset data requirements.
