LAN Administrator

Description

Under general supervision, this fully competent role manages LAN performance and maintains LAN security. Installs network software and trains users on LAN operation. Troubleshoots LAN problems. Implements LAN policies, procedures and standards and ensures their conformance with information systems and company objectives. Evaluates and recommends hardware, software and telecommunication equipment that meet the user's needs. Is responsible for working company wide in multiplatform environments. Provides occasional functional guidance to less experienced LAN Administrators. Requires guidance in complex problem areas, errors may cause significant delay, expense and disruption.QualificationsExperience in data communications is desired. Incumbents should have a good understanding and knowledge of software applications and hardware. Customer Service Skills Possesses a broad understanding of customer needs and of how to meet those needs. Demonstrates a sense of urgency in addressing issues affecting their customer and takes ownership of the issues affecting them.
