ETL Architect

Description

Data Architect will be responsible for creating the data architecture and implementing data warehouse and business intelligence solutions. Complete Description This is a high visibility position developing critical Data Warehouse and reporting components. This person will need to be able to learn quickly, to work in a fastpaced teamdriven/Agile environment, and to communicate well with technical as well as nontechnical personnel. Design & Architect Data warehousing solutions. Set up best practices Develop ETL processes (PL/SQL, PERL, Business Objects Data Integrator, AbInito ) and validation code between source systems and the corporate data warehouse Database and ETL performance tuning Design, implement and understand Dimensional Models/query tools, and Metadata Repositories Work closely with internal customers, IT staff, vendors and consultants to coordinate plans and activities for development projects Work effectively in teammanaged, Agile/Scrum environment. Able to accurately estimate work efforts Analyze business requirements and translate them into functional and high level technical design specifications Design and development of relational database management objects (tables, schemas, indexes, materialized views, partitions, stored procedures, macros, etc.), database design principles, data administration standards, and information security terminology Ability to solve complex technical problems, assimilate information rapidly, and work under time constraints Aptitude to work collaboratively with other BI and IT resources to design and develop effective BI solutions for the enterpriseRequired Skills/Experience Attention to detail Ability to analyze and understand complex problems Highly organized, self motivated, proactive, and able to plan Excellent verbal and written communication skills Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, MIS, or related experience 8+ years experience in Application Development of Data Warehouse solutions 5+ years architecting large (terabytes) data intensive solutions Must have strong knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL Strong Unix Shell Scripting experience Excellent knowledge of data warehouse concepts, such as star schemas, snowflakes, conformed dimensions, slowly changing dimensions, etc. Experience with Data administration and Security Experience with large data warehouses and finetuning ETL design in Oracle environments Ability to learn quickly in a dynamic environment and deliver on commitments in a timely manner Excellent organizational, communication, analytical and interpersonal skills Ability to work on multiple tasks and efforts simultaneously Strong documentation skills Desired Skills Experience with AbInitio, Business Objects Data Integrator or Informatica is highly desirable Experience with enduser analysis tools and other Business Intelligence Reporting tools is desirable Experience with Agile development methodologies Experience working in a structured change management processes 5+ years defining and maintaining logical data models, physical data models, data standards, naming conventions, primary key guidelines, and data flow diagrams Ability to analyze and come up implementable solutions for complex data flows and structures.
