EDI Data Specialist

Description

Extensive experience with MS products including but not limited to WORD, EXCEL, Access dB, Project, Power Point, Visio, Ultra Edit Text Editor and WINZIP. Extensive technical experience of mainframe applications including; CICS, TSO/ISPF, FileAid, COBOL, JCL, VSAM, Extensive experience with communication protocols such as FTP and NDM.510 years working experience with ANSI X12 in the industry, preferably in financial industry. Experience in implementing EDI transactions sets such as; 820, 821, 823, 835, 824, 828, 996, 997. Deliverables criteria/results by which success can be measured Comply to and adhere to bank and regulatory guidelines and procedures. Cultivate and enforce functional policies, procedures, standard process and quality assurance best practices. Collaborate with designers, testing partners, analysts and clients to test customer's solution. Provide production support and back fill as required. Analyze and solve complex production problems as they relate to EDI processing. Work with managers/customers to document incidents and provide documentation to appropriate teams. Provide training to internal and external users. Document EDI process, departmental procedures and file layouts. Work with operations managers to define customer's and operations requirements. Displays a detailed knowledge of department functions and must be knowledgeable in areas of workflow to meet operations and risk requirements. Assist Product and Sales Teams on sales calls by providing clear definition of the EDI product and services and how they may improve the customer's or prospect's business process. Educate and advise clients on best use of products and services. Act as a liaison between operations and technology to deliver customer solutions, process improvement and enterprise initiatives. Ensure solution and development meet business and customer requirements. Effectively gather and document comprehensive customer's business and technical requirements. Implement EDI products and services on the EDI platform within SLA and without defect. Self manage projects and assignments through completion with minimum or no supervision applying the PDLC methodology. Coordinate all activities required to implement customer's solution and/or business process. Setup customer profiles on the EDI application. Configure mailbox and/or setup customer relationship on the Sterling Commerce VAN. Develop necessary input/output maps to support systems interface requirements and/or customer's business requirements. Develop Test Plan and Test Cases. Perform Unit/UAT/Regression/Customer Testing. Work effectively with all teams to move the customer development from a development region to QA region and then QA to production. Work closely with the operations manager to maintain and update the EDI Operations metrics / Hoshin scorecard. Provide customer and production support as required. Self start process improvement initiatives to reduce cost and defects. Experience in financial and payments processing. (I.e. ACH, Wire, Lockbox and Check Processing) Extensive experience designing and developing business process. Extensive data mapping development and configuration experience and data analysis. Extensive experience working with various file formats such as Flat File, NACHA, BISI, Lockbox BAI, XML, . Extensive technical experience of mainframe applications including; CICS, TSO/ISPF, FileAid, COBOL, JCL, VSAM, Extensive experience with communication protocols such as FTP and NDM. Excellent troubleshooting and problem resolution skills Strong analytical skills and detailoriented. Expertise and experience defining scope of projects based on gathered business and technical requirements, including documenting business requirements, assumptions, business impacts and implementation risks. 510 years working experience with ANSI X12 in the industry, preferably in financial industry. Experience with VAN (Value Added Network) mailbox setups, trading partner setups and testing. Experience in implementing EDI transactions sets such as; 820, 821, 823, 835, 824, 828, 996, 997. Extensive experience with EDI translation tools both UNIX and Mainframe based such as Gentran Integration Suite and Vector Connexion Extensive experience / indepth knowledge of mapping Flat File to EDI and EDI to Flat File. Extensive experience with testing methodologies; UNIT, System Integrated Test, User Acceptance Test, Regression Test and Customer Test. Extensive experience developing Test Plan, Test Script and Test Cases. Experience implementing customers on the EDI application for Integrated Payables and Receivables Product and Services. Must be able to effectively prioritize and execute multiple projects/assignments in a fast paced environment using the PDLC methodology. Experience working with third party application support and application vendors. Excellent written and oral communications skills. Excellent listening and interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user friendly language. Excellent organization skills and ability to multitask and support multiple projects concurrently. Experience working in a teamoriented and collaborative environment.
