Description
This is an individual contributor role within Dell's Large Enterprise & Public (LE&P) segment. This position reports to the Manager of Product Services & Solution Selling within IT, a team focuses on delivering complete UI & services for online, offline, transactional, and Premier customers globally. This person will have following duties Support a complex multiserver, multidatabase environment on Windows 2003/2018 and SQL Server 2005/2018 with databases in the hundreds of gigabytes with hundreds of user tables and stored procedures. Provide advice and guidance on database design and stored procedure/view/function/trigger creation. Maintain, develop and troubleshoot a complex SQL Server Transactional Replication architecture among several servers and databases. Act as a liaison between application developers, testers, production DBAs and testing environment engineers to troubleshoot issues, release changes to the production environment and set up test, development and performance environments. Prepare detailed documents and scripts for production releases. Analyze and resolve performance issues via query tuning and indexing in all environments production, test, development and performance. Qualifications Expertise with SQL Server tools including SSMS (SQL Server Management Studio) and Profiler Understanding of database design including normalization Understanding of TSQL coding including stored procedures, userdefined functions, triggers and views Understanding of Transactional Replication Knowledge of performance tuning including analysis of query plans and understanding of indexing
