SAP BW Functional Analyst

Description

The Information Architect is responsible for the design of SAP BI solutions. This is a senior/manager position and therefore requires deep SAP BI technical skills. The architect is responsible developing an optimal technical design that fits in with the overall architecture strategy and framework and meets all business requirements. This role reports to the Director of Information ArchitectureExternal Responsibilities Accountabilities Work with IT and business resources to gather business requirements and drive functional and technical designs for BI Solutions. Ensure that scope of solution is manageable; develop cost estimates and timelines for detailed analysis, design and implementation. Support a wide range of business groups, e.g. Finance, Supply Chain, Sales, HR, etc. Accountable for the overall design of the SAP BI environment which includes BW Accelerator and Business Objects. Accountable for the overall technical architecture of the Enterprise Data Warehouse that has SAP and nonSAP information. Develop business requirements and technical design documents. Develop/Update standards including naming standards, cube design standards, security standards, and design principles etc. Technical governance of solutions; review work of developers to ensure that technical standards are met. Develop current state and future state architectures. Develop alterative solutions and site benefits and concerns of each and recommendation. Drive technical assessments of BI related tools and track emerging technologies in BI/Information space. External Requirements PrerequisitesIndividual must have very good communication, analytical and problem solving skills. Ability to quickly absorb complex technical and conceptual information, identify key issues and details and present understandable alternatives to both technical and nontechnical audiences. Must have a solid understanding of appropriate backend data structures and cubes and frontend reporting tools. Experience with flat file, SAP, and other nonSAP data sources is critical. Experience with web reporting tools and Oracle databases. Minimum of 8+ years of experience with BI implementations using SAP BI tools. Must have SAP BI 7 experience and a indepth knowledge of various standard extractors and custom extractors. Experience with BWA, BW security and ETL tools such as Informatica is preferred. Proven track record of architecting highly scalable BI systems. Must have deep knowledge in optimizing performance of large volume SAP BW solutions. Optimizing cube design and data loading experience. Must have good leadership skills in order to guide other developers and to review their work to ensure standards are met. Strong ABAP and debugging skills are required. Experience in a CPG company is a plus. Operational IT experience, particularly in project delivery. Familiarity with project management best practices, methodologies, and tools. Should have a demonstrated portfolio of previous projects where the candidate was accountable/responsible for the solution design aspect of the project supported by references.
