Cognos Report Developer

Description

GATX is looking for an experienced Cognos report developer to help convert legacy reports from Brio and Crystal to Cognos. The candidate must have seniorlevel experience with Cognos v8.4 Report Studio and SQL/Oracle skills. Brio and Crystal experience is a big plus. Here are the desired skills and their relevance to the role Cognos 8.4 Report Development (Senior level) must have SQL/Oracle experience must have Cognos 8.4 Framework Manager modeling and design strong plus Exposure to Crystal Reports and Brio reporting tools strong plus Cognos 8.4 Administration and Support (including security administration / single signon with Siteminder/LDAP) a plus Cognos 8.4 SDK (Java) / Cognos integration with custom Java apps a plus Cognos 8.4 Virtual View Manager experience (Composite Server) nice to have The individual will most importantly need to be at an expert level in Cognos Report Development. We have a current contractor on this team that the new member of the team will be partnering with to complete this conversion initiative. The initiative involves retiring the legacy reporting platforms and converting to Cognos. The consultant will also interact with the business users to manage the conversion expectations, do some testing, and train the business once the conversion is complete. Overall the candidate could progress into a long term member of the team to design documentation for an extensible application development framework based on the Cognos 8.4. It will also include code releases, documentation specifying proper use, maintenance, and testing. Therefore would prefer an individual that could convert to permanent. Needs to be an energetic, gogetter that will be collaborative with the team. Communication skills are very important. Someone that can take initiative and has a healthy sense of competition to be the best as they are going to be compared against 2 other current Cognos Report Developers for potential full time employment.
