Description
Position Responsibilities Designs and develops performance testing automation artifacts (scripts, functions, scenarios, processes) for simple to complex performance testing situations using various tools (primarily HP Performance Center/LoadRunner). Collects, organizes, and analyzes statistical information from a variety of sources (both technical i.e. web logs, and nontechnical i.e. product management interviews) to support highquality test design.Configures, executes, monitors, and troubleshoots LoadRunner performance tests in a variety of situations and conditions.Works collaboratively with other departments to conduct performance tests, troubleshoot issues, and improve system performance. Analyzes statistical results for baselines, trends, and anomalies to facilitate problem solving, performance improvements, and reporting. Contributes ideas and recommends action based on that analysis.Manages performance testing artifacts to ensure proper versioning, backups, organization and retention.Assists other groups and departments with the maintenance and configuration of performance testing environments as needed.Trains and mentors other departmental resources on the proper configuration and use of HP Performance Center/HP LoadRunner.Prepares and reports test results both formally and informally. Communicates results information to technical and nontechnical audiences.Interfaces daily with the Performance Testing Group Lead and as needed with the Enterprise Testing Services Manager. Position Requirements Incumbent should be an HP LoadRunner expert having the ability to train and mentor other resources on HP Performance Center/LoadRunner.Minimum of 5 years of performance testing and/or performance engineering experience.Advanced knowledge of performance test automation tools and effective implementation techniques. Advanced experience and competency using HP Performance Center/LoadRunner to create and execute performance tests, and analyze and report results. Strong technical and testing skills Knowledge of various software testing strategies and approaches.Requires little supervision, selfstarter that can work independently and collaboratively, while remaining effective at reporting status on tasks daily.Very detail oriented. Strong communication skills Ability to communicate and document project status and complex issues effectivelyExperience and competency with at least one programming or scripting language particularly C/C++ and Java (J2EE)Some experience with middleware technologies such as IIS, Apache, Websphere, XML, XSLT, etc.Knowledge and experience with distributed systems, web application technologies, web services, and multilayered architectures.Knowledge and experience using Windows tools and utilities some experience with UNIX/AIX tools is a plusKnowledge and experience with multiple relational database systems primarily DB2 and SQL Server. Some knowledge and experience with IBM mainframe systems as they relate to endtoend testingKnowledge of various environmental elements as they relate to testing (i.e. networking, hardware, software, midtier, etc.), and the ability to effectively assist with troubleshooting as needed.
