SAS Programmer

Description

1) Minimum requirement at least 5 years of SAS programming experience of claims and/or electronic medical record databases in the pharmaceutical industry, and/or CRO healthrelated consulting company, and/or academia. 2) Must be proficient in SAS macro and SQL. 3) Must be able to execute multistep data management tasks, recognize technical problems and solve with minimal assistance. Job Description The Sr. SAS Programmer, Global HEOR and Clinical Epidemiology, will be responsible for the following 1) Perform SAS programming and analyses for epidemiology and HEOR using large medical claims and electronic medical records databases.2) Assist in developing analysis plan and summarizing and synthesizing results into reports and publications.3) Assess technical feasibility of database studies and required resources and timelines.4) Conduct review of existing data, including literature review, for the purpose of developing study concepts.5) Create, modify and execute plans to validate database studies as necessary, and document steps taken in accordance with standard procedures.6) Clean and merge data from multiple files (e.g., medical, pharmacy, enrollment, lab).7) Act as data consultant to other SAS programmers and researchers.MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES Responsible for creating, performing statistical analysis on, and maintaining the integrity of the analytic databasesPOSITION ACCOUNTABILITY/SCOPE Exercises judgment in selecting innovative, practical methods to achieve problem resolution. Failure to obtain results or erroneous decisions or recommendations would typically result in serious delays and considerable expenditure of resources.PROBLEM SOLVING SAS programming and analytical problem solving skills required. Education Requirements Minimum BS degree. MS or MPH in statistics/biostatistics preferred.
