Description
Under general supervision, develops, codes, tests, and debugs new software or enhancements to existing software. Requires good understanding of business applications. Works with technical staff to understand problems with software and resolve them. Resolves customer complaints with software and responds to suggestions for improvements and enhancements. May assist in development of software user manuals. Essential Job Functions 1. Work with customers, project managers, analysts and developers to transform business requirements into technical solutions. 2. Follow software development process and create necessary artifacts and metrics to ensure process compliance. 3. Develop physical designs and models to meet business requirements. 4. Develop detailed specifications and code programs from specifications. 5. Create and execute detailed unit testing and assist in the development of test plans. 6. Create change control / installation packages and project documentation. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 1. Ability to communicate with customers and other IS staff at a business and technical level both verbally and written. 2. Strong experience with SharePoint administration and web part development. 3. Develop applications using SharePoint technologies ranging from planning and architecting portal based solutions to development of web parts. 4. Ability to quickly grasp new technologies and best practices, and recommend process improvements and utilization of technical capabilities. 5. Strong object oriented application design and development skills and the ability to articulate the design to other team members. 6. Project related duties may include client interaction to define technical requirements, architecting and developing solutions, solution testing, and ongoing application support. 7. Create and execute detailed unit test cases and assist in the development of test plans. 8. Design and develop web applications using ASP.NET. 9. Excellent organizational and customer service skills. 10. Knowledge of C#, XML and .NET Framework. Education, Training and Experience Required 1. Bachelors degree preferred. 2. 1 3 years experience in .NET web / desktop development using C#. 3. Microsoft Developer Certificate a plus. 4. Experience with UML class libraries and activity diagrams, logical and physical designs, test plans, etc. 5. Experience with database design and development.
