SQL Server Developer

Description

Position Summary The Stored Procedure Developer will play a critical role in improving our existing databases. The primary responsibility of this role will be to take ownership of the rationalization and reengineering of our current stored procedures. The successful candidate will be selfmanaging and will assume responsibility for the ongoing maintenance, consolidation, and improvement of stored procedures in our databases. They will also provide recommendations to and perform code reviews for a team of data analysts who develop stored procedures for data maintenance, error checking, and data transformation. Responsibilities would include Assessing current state of stored procedure library Providing documented remediation recommendations with accompanying principles or best practices Actively participating in project scoping and plan development Implementing recommended changes, including consolidating, eliminating, and improving existing sprocs and creating new ones as necessary and appropriate Developing unit tests as necessary to validate the quality of individual stored procedures Coordinating with the QA team to package unit tests into suites that can be executed for regression purposes Preparing quality design documentation and release notes Working with release managers to ensure successful deployment of improvements Developing effective user documentation for stored procedures Position Requirements Three plus years focused MS SQL Server stored procedure dev experience Extensive experience with MS SQL Server, including database administration, TSQL, and stored procedure development Demonstrated proficiency at data modeling and database querying.
