P2V Migration Engineer

Description

Migrate physical Windows servers into VMware virtual infrastructure. Modify newly created VMs as required (DNS, services, network parameters, etc.), participate in change control process, document all activities.Migration (P2V) of physical serversOur consultants, on a best effort basis, will use VMware vCenter Converter to migrate Citizens Bank's physical machines into Citizens Bank's existing VMware ESX 3.5 infrastructure. Included in this activity will be the following Work Definition P2V processP2V of source O/S using standards based approachBasic target VM cleanup will include Hardware applications and driversDisk layout and tuningCommon error resolutionNo application troubleshooting will be performedHardware specification updatesVM specific post conversion activities to include Anti Affinity settingsHA/DRS configurationSpecial needs, e.g., ReIP, Rename of migrated machinesAdd/Remove/Reinstallation of administrative programsInstallation/removal/registration of applications other than specified administrative programs as noted are not within the scope of this projectReregistration of ESM and other agentsValidation of backup configuration, monitoring and security tool registration and server specific Change Control requests.
