VM Ware Virtualization Architect

JOB DESCRIPTION This is mid to system engineer with VMware, Citrix Xenapp, Netapp, HP Server (Rack mount and Blade) hardware experience, will be responsible for upgrade, installation, configuration and implementation of VMware and Citrix Xenapp solutions. This person will help to document best practices in upgrading and deploying VMware and Citrix Xenapp solutions. This person needs to have a strong understanding networking and storage environments. Must have experience with large Windows, Linux hardware platforms; Windows 2003, Windows 2018, Redhat 4, 5 VMware and Citrix in a multidata center enterprise environment. The successful candidate will have the demonstrated ability to manage complex tasks and will have excellent written communication and customer service skillsProject is to upgrade current VMware environment at dowjones from VMware ESX 3.x to VMware vShpere 4. Upgrade includes Virtual center upgrade from VC 2.5 to VC 4.0. The VMware environment currently supports over 100 ESX servers and 1200 VMs. In addition to the VMware upgrade a Citrix Farm upgrade from Xenapp 4 to Xenapp 5 project is also being kicked off. This project requires an upgrade over 80 Citrix Servers from Xenapp 4 to 5.
