QA Tester

Description

The QA Tester will be responsible for the development of procedures and meeting applicable deadlines within the GRAIL Remediation Project as communicated by the QC Manager or assigned Project Lead. The candidate should have experience as an application tester, with experience in manual testing and sound experience in writing/developing test cases for both system and user acceptance testing.Prepare Test cases, Test scripts, Test reports and MetricsExecute Test cases and Test scriptsReport Test Status to QC Lead / QC managerFollow established QC procedures and processes to ensure quality in deliverablesEnsure defects are logged and trackedParticipate in QC testing and signoffs before turnover to Production release, ensuring product conforms to specificationsAssist manager in development of detailed work plansAttend status meetings. Attend requirements and design walkthrough meetings as needed. Prepare Testing meetings and maintain related meeting minutes. Update and maintain documents on Star Team.Act as a partner assisting GC IT managers and staff in the development of both technologybased and processbased Testing solutionsPromote relationships between the QC group and other IT groups Support developers and BRM team throughout the development and testing process, ensuring that Test cases and scenarios are stated completely and unambiguously, and that open issues are addressed properly Required Skills 3 5 years QA / IT experience in the insurance / reinsurance industry with understanding of reinsurance and financial processing Strong understanding of programming languages (Oracle, Oracle Forms)Extensive SQL background requiredSignificant experience in testing Client Server applications Ability to decipher requirements and test scope when documentation is unavailable Ability to create screen designs/mockups, and report definitions Must have strong communication and follow up skills (verbal/written) Ability to work independently and assertively and maintains thorough attention to detailsExcellent skills in Microsoft Office with strong ability to create documentation and presentations and develop spreadsheets Strong SDLC Knowledge
