SQL Server Developer

Description

Essential Job Functions Work with Business, Application and Reporting teams to implement database solutions according to specified requirements Document the design of database components and verify developed components work according to the design Work with Quality Assurance team to identify datarelated test cases and to generate test data Work with the Operations team to document the steps required to deploy database solutions to the production environment, assist with deployments when required Investigate and fix critical issues with both data and database systems Work with Data team to implement and evolve a midsize data warehouse / data mart to support both product and enterprise reporting Design and develop data feeds and extracttransformload (ETL) processes to populate data warehouse / data mart in conformance with overall data architecture Develop adhoc queries and miscellaneous data processing routines as required Requirements At least 5 years of direct database development experience with SQL Server 2000 / 2005 Excellent understanding of RBDMS principles including logical and physical database design, data normalization and database optimization Strong problem solving and analytical skills, including the ability to analyze and understand complex database systems Expertlevel skills in Transact SQL and database development, including the development of functions, stored procedures and triggers Strong experience in developing ETL processes using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) or similar technology Ability to work collaboratively as a team member or as an individual contributor Strong verbal and written communication skills Desirable SkillsThe following skills are not absolute requirements but preference will be given to candidates with any or all of them Familiarity with version control systems and configuration management of databaserelated artifacts Familiarity with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)
